JONATHAN VAN DYKE
(Founder/Artistic Director/Producer) began his career as a performer at
Walt Disney World before
moving to New York and the theatre. He has appeared in national tours,
regional
theatre, off-Broadway, and in TV, film, and numerous industrials.
Totally Electric was
his first crack at writing, and four years later the show came to
vibrant life in Greenwich Village.
Sold-out performances and an extension
of the run resulted in back-to-back productions in Tampa,
Orlando, Sarasota, Riverview and New Orleans. The success of Totally
Electric
led to new writing opportunities for Busch Gardens,
corporate
events, and a new show called The Class of R.I.P: The Final Prom,
which opens
in the fall of ’08.
After concentrating on producing
and directing, his acting
career is back in full swing. In addition to Totally Electric,
he recently appeared in the feature film Prime of Your Life,
and
theatrical productions of The Full Monty, The Last 5 Years
and the national
tour of Bye Bye Birdie.
His affiliation with Meredith
McDermott came to fruition
when she was cast in Totally Electric. She now holds the
position of musical
director and assists in the setting of all productions. Currently they
are workshopping their newest project, Make Your Own Kind of Music,
about the folk
music scene of the 1960’s.
MEREDITH MCDERMOTT (Producer/Musical Director/Company Manager) began
her
theatrical career as a an actress and singer in community productions
in Tampa, Florida, and graduated to the professional ranks in the 2007
Florida tour of Totally Electric, where she remains today. In
addition to performing in the show, she is currently the musical
director and company manager for the current touring production.
An accomplished musician, Meredith has been a percussionist most of
her life and has performed in numerous bands, orchestras, and
ensembles. She holds a minor in music
performance from the University of South Florida, where she studied
with former Florida Orchestra principal percussionist Robert McCormick.
In addition, she spent three years studying voice privately, and since
then has performed as a vocalist in many venues around the Tampa Bay
area.
Meredith also has a solid background in tech theater and television
production, graduating from USF with a degree in mass communications
with a focus on writing, editing and producing for live television and
video. She has produced PSAs, documentary packages, and print and
video marketing materials and advertising for theatrical productions.
In addition to Totally Electric, Meredith is currently working
on many varied projects--theatrical and otherwise--with Jonathan,
including musical directing the new show Class of RIP and
collaborating on the 1960s musical Make Your Own Kind of Music.
When not working on a production together, which is not often,
Meredith spends her days as an acting and vocal coach in Tampa.
